A WARM WELCOME
FROM our HEADMASTER AND CEO
Repton’s heritage is well documented: for over 1,000 years our site in the very heart of rural England has been an important seat of learning. Today, our knowledge, credibility and success built up over centuries of being a world-leading boarding school sees us educate children and young people all over the world.
We ask a lot of our pupils, individually and collectively, in a time when Reptonian resilience serves young people well as they face the demands of the modern world. We value tradition but move with a pace of change that prepares Reptonians to become ambitious and purposeful global citizens.
A pupil at Repton reaps the enormous benefits of being at a school within one of the foremost education groups in the world, and one of the most exciting; the dynamic opportunities on offer safely assured by the resource, reach and responsiveness of the worldwide Repton family.
Driven by our shared values that Repton Family continues to move forward, very proud of our children’s progress and excited by the bright future that we prepare them for.
MR MARK SEMMENCE
36th Headmaster of Repton School

WHAT THE GOOD SCHOOLS GUIDE SAYS…
“Repton sits comfortably among the top co-ed boarding schools for academic achievement and shines particularly brightly in terms of value added.”
A PERFECTLY balanced EDUCATION
IN THE HEART OF ENGLAND
Repton, based in rural Derbyshire in the heart of England, is one of the oldest and most prestigious public schools in the UK. Small enough for every pupil to be known and appreciated, yet large enough to compete and win on an international stage, our full boarding ethos enables every pupil – whether day or boarding – to benefit from a rich curriculum fortified by outstanding pastoral care. Widely acknowledged for academic performance, exceptional sporting accomplishments and a dynamic arts programme, Repton delivers a truly balanced education, nurturing ability and discovering talent from an early age. Fostering a sense of balance in our purposeful and caring community engenders a strong sense of belonging in every Reptonian.
THE SENSE OF BALANCE
OUR five PILLARS
The sense of balance that every Reptonian – from the age of 3 to 18 - benefits from is shaped by our five pillars: Pastoral Care; Academia; Sport; Extra Curricular and our Spirit of Place. At Repton, pupils achieve in the classroom because they never have to prioritise academic achievement over their love of theatre, their aptitude for sport or their passion for music. Our passionate and dedicated teaching and coaching staff are on-hand to provide pupils with guidance, support and expertise at any time.
Ancient buildings grace our sites, but ongoing investment provides pupils with world-class facilities that places us at the forefront of the EdTech revolution.
Enabling pupils to adopt a healthy balance between work and rest so that they can pursue every endeavour with zeal prepares them for life beyond our iconic Arch, seeing them excel at world-leading universities as well as in the workplace.

VOICES of REPTON
- “Everything from the care that is taken of each child in house to the house music, drama and sport events means they really feel part of a family.”
Repton Parent - “Repton considers pastoral care to be a priority. The wellbeing of pupils is vital if they are to have a positive learning experience. Perhaps it is one of the strongest parts of Repton’s education.”
Repton Parent - “There is honestly nothing I would want to change about Repton. I’m in my last year now and have enjoyed every single day of my five years at Repton and wouldn’t change a thing. I really love the busyness of Repton; some might say the days are quite long but I think that’s great as there is no way one can feel bored or that you’re wasting time.”
Pupil - “My Latin teacher and Tutor has been very helpful, not only in teaching but in helping all aspects of my academic approach as well as giving me ongoing advice and support throughout my Oxbridge application.”
Pupil - “Teachers rotate which houses they eat in and it was evident from our unforced conversations over fish and chips and treacle pudding (yum) with the delightful boys in School House that they’re well accustomed to entertaining whoever lands at their table.”
Good Schools Guide, 2022 - “Parents love the formalities, heritage and traditions of Repton but equally value that ‘it’s not posh’.”
