A WARM WELCOME
FROM OUR CEO,
Mr Mark Semmence
The Repton Group is one of the foremost education groups in the world and one of the most exciting.
All our individual Repton Schools can only operate at the level they do thanks to the resource, reach and responsiveness of the group. And yet, unlike some other contenders in our sector, our aim is not to be the biggest, but rather the most sought-after.
In any stand-alone school, there is a conflict between the exigencies of protecting the status quo and innovating for progress. A major benefit of our dynamic, educationally, and economically successful Repton group is that we have the time and space to plan innovation within the security of our wider organisation.
As CEO of this group, I can call on the extensive resource, the collective experience and the sheer thought power of the group to cast our minds forward, like the best multi-national companies, to look for and often to forge the path ahead. For example, here are some of the big questions the group is tackling:
- How do we reach out beyond the current students aged 3 -18 to older groups, and to wider groups, all of whom are seeking world-class education?
- How do we anticipate and react to changing habits and behaviours in our sector? – in this context, our leading position in EdTech will undoubtedly give us a first-mover advantage
- How do we make the most of our global teaching power, so that the whole becomes greater than the sum of the parts? – by not thinking in national or subject silos, but rather as a collective educational powerhouse
In doing this, our drive is more about innovation and relevance to a new world than growth for growth’s sake.
Our imperative, always, is to maintain the integrity of the Repton brand and the trust that all our constituencies, existing and future, have in it.
MR MARK SEMMENCE
36th Headmaster of Repton School
